About

Angela Riggs is a multi-disciplinary artist whose practice is guided by spontaneity, curiosity, and exploration. As an artist with aphantasia - a limited ability to visualize - she designs directly in the medium rather than chasing a fixed outcome. Whether she’s working on the loom, at the easel, or shaping clay, her process is the purpose: following texture, color, and form where they lead her on the creative journey.

Angela discovered her passion for fiber arts after taking her first weaving workshop in 2019. Since then, she has developed her signature style inspired by the colors, textures, and movement of the Pacific Northwest landscape. Her sense of curiosity carries into watercolor, creating abstract paintings that play with negative space and multi-panel composition; and into ceramics, where organic, hand-formed shapes are used to create bolo ties and wall-hanging ceramic tapestries. Angela’s work in any medium is comforting and joyful, inviting deeper contemplation through layered surfaces and shapes.
